Crews cleared damage left behind by Wednesday s explosion at the Baltimore Gas and Electric building downtown.A high-rise crane was brought in Saturday morning part by part and was assembled to remove the scaffolding from which two workers were rescued after the explosion. This is a very large crane. It s from out of the service area. It came in on 20 flatbed trucks, BGE spokesman Aaron Koos said.The crane placed the scaffolding on the ground for crews to disassemble, and police reopened streets shortly before 6 p.m. It s actually moving very quickly. It will probably be until sunset tonight that they ll get it all down, Koos said. Overall effort, there s probably more than 100 people involved. Wednesday morning s explosion on the 16th floor caused a partial roof collapse and damage to six floors. There s a lot of repairs to be made. COVINGTON COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - Strong winds and rain caused some damage in Covington County late Wednesday and early Thursday.
In the Mount Olive area, people reported downed trees and limbs, as well as metal roofs and roof shingles coming off.
“What we saw mostly was minor damage consisting of shingles blowing off the house, the metal roofs, some of the metal roofs were blown off houses, chicken houses roof damage as well, but unless it had structural damage done to the house, it was probably done by a fallen tree or limbs,” Covington County Emergency Management Director Greg Sanford said.

A storm packing a mix of heavy rains and winds knocked out power to thousands of homes across the Northeast region Christmas morning. There were more than 7,000.
